Directions to Camp Ashmere, 822 Peru Rd, Hinsdale, MA 01235 From North Adams, MA and Vermont:Travel south on state route 8 to Hinsdale, MA. At the traffic light, in Hinsdale (the only one) turn left on state route 143 East. Drive two (2) miles to the Peru Town line, turn right into Camp Ashmere’s driveway immediately after the Peru sign. Just before the town line you will cross the causeway over Ashmere Lake. From the West: Pittsfield, MA and New York State: Travel East on US route 20. In Pittsfield take state route 9 East to Dalton, MA. In Dalton take state route 8 South to Hinsdale. Turn left on to state route 143 East at the traffic light. Follow the directions above. From the South, Lee, MA, the Mass Pike I90 , and Connecticut: Exit I90 at Exit 2, Lee, MA. Take US route 20 West to Pittsfield. In Pittsfield, take state route 9 East. Follow directions from the West above. From Connecticut, take state route 8 North to Hinsdale, MA. At the traffic light , turn right on to state route 143 East. Follow the directions above. From the East, I91 and Northampton, MA. From I91 take Exit for state route 9. Take state route 9 West to Dalton, MA. Turn left on to state route 8 South to Hinsdale, MA. Follow the directions above. (Note: you can take 143 West in Florence, MA, but it is a round-a-bout route. If you take it to Peru, MA, continue on 143 West after passing through Peru. As you descend the mountain, you will pass Camp Danbee on the left, and the next driveway on the left is Camp Ashmere, right at the Hinsdale town sign. |
